One of the busiest streets in Ipswich town centre was closed on Friday lunchtime because of fears that one of the huge black glass panes on the iconic Willis building could fall to the ground.
Princes Street was closed between Museum Street and Civic Drive while engineers examined the damage to the glass high up on the building and tried to work out how to repair it.
Bus services to and from the town centre were diverted and cars leaving the Buttermarket car park had to find alternative routes out of the town centre.
The road is expected to be closed until late on Saturday afternoon.
