A FRESH inquiry has been launched into the murder of Julie Ward following an official complaint from her father about the handling of the investigation.

The independent Police Complaints Authority will be supervising the probe, which centres around an investigation carried out by officers from the Metropolitan Police into the death of Miss Ward,

who was murdered in a Kenyan game park 13 years ago.

It comes after John Ward, the father of the 28-year-old safari photographer from Suffolk, made an official complaint that work, carried out by Scotland Yard in Kenya more than a decade ago, was flawed.

Mr Ward, from Brockford Green, near Bury St Edmunds, has devoted his life to trying to trace his daughter's killer.
