There have been 100 reported faults since the damage occurred yesterday at about 10am but telephone company BT has assured people that normal service should be resumed by the weekend.
A BT spokesman said: “We have suffered third party damage to an underground cable on Main Old Norwich Road in Claydon.
“Engineers have been onsite and are currently working on replacing this cable and putting in a new section. We have been doing all we can to get this work completed as quickly as is possible and will be working through the night and hope to have all service restored during the weekend.”
