Profits up for Anglian Water's company

AWG, the parent company of Anglian Water, has today announced an increase in operating profits of 11.2 per cent for the organisation that provides water for the east of England.

AWG, the parent company of Anglian Water, has today announced an increase in operating profits of 11.2 per cent for the organisation that provides water to the east of England.

The increase, to £147.9 million, reflects turnover growth and efficiencies which reduced costs by £9.5m during the six months to September 30.

AWG also announced restructuring of the group which will see their water and wastewater sectors operating separately.

The Anglian Water name will continue and the changes are expected to be complete by the first half of 2002.
