Prosecutors have discontinued the case against a 17-year-old boy charged in connection with a stabbing in Ipswich.
The teen was charged with possession of a bladed article in relation to an incident at McDonald’s in Ravenswood on Wednesday, June 13, when police were called to reports of a 16-year-old boy having been stabbed.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has discontinued its case against the boy, who was due in court last Thursday, to allow time for investigations to conclude.
Rishawn Mohammed, 18, of Hurricane Place, remains in custody to appear at court in August to enter a plea to wounding with intent.
A spokesman said: “The CPS has discontinued the case against the 17-year-old to allow time for the investigation to be concluded.
“The case will then be reviewed in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors and a decision will be made on what if any charges will be put.”
