People are being advised not to approach a man who has absconded from Hollesley Bay prison in Suffolk. UPDATE: The absconder has been returned to the prison system.

Anthony Hagger, 55, was released on temporary licence to receive medical treatment at Ipswich Hospital this morning, and was reported as missing to police around 12:25pm.

Hagger is serving a life sentence for firearm and robbery offences.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of thin build, with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be wearing a light blue Adidas tracksuit, black puffer jacket and a black beanie hat.

Members of the public are advised not to approach him, but call police immediately if they believe they have seen him.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference CAD 165 of 11 October.
