A NEW pubwatch scheme has been launched in Hadleigh in a bid to combat drink-related crime in the medieval town.The scheme will link pubs through the Suffolk Constabulary Comnet system, which allows messages to be passed rapidly around pubs and off licences.

Unruly customers will also be banned from pubs.
New landlord of the town's King's Head pub, Christopher Gates, is to be co-ordinator of Hadleigh Pubwatch.
Mr Gates said he was familiar with such schemes after being involved in a Pubwatch scheme in Yeovil, Somerset.
He said: "I have first-hand experience of the partnership really working. It helps licensees concentrate on providing quality service to customers by deterring the problem factor with a small minority of people, that can effect people's enjoyment in our premises and also the residents' quality of life in the town."
