POP star Jarvis Cocker has been added to the bill for Suffolk's Latitude Festival this summer.

The Pulp frontman joins Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice, Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire and Blur frontman Damon Albarn's new band, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, on the bill for the second year of the festival held at Henham Park, near Southwold.

He will play on the final night of the festival, which takes place on July 12-15.

Best known for his staged protest against Michael Jackson at the 1996 Brit Awards, Jarvis Cocker is currently enjoying critical and commercial success with his self-titled solo album.

A spokesman for the festival said: “He is one of this country's most celebrated characters and will no doubt bring his unique brand of great showmanship and entertainment to Latitude Festival.”

Also added to the line-up are the Gotan Project, solo star Patrick Wolf, and Texan five-piece Midlake.
