suffolk: You might think eight weeks old is a touch young to start a new job.

But loveable pup Murphy is today enjoying putting his paw on the career ladder after becoming the first employee of a new doggy training business.

The cute German shepherd has become the leader of the pack for owners Alex Fairfull and Suzanne Watkins, who will train him in order for other dogs to follow his lead.

The couple have launched their business – www.happydogdays.co.uk – from their home in Polstead Road, Stowmarket. Alex said: “He’s a good family dog for now – but he will have to be a working dog soon.”

The clever pup has already mastered the art of sitting and lying down, although according to Alex – a photographer at The Evening Star – he is still fond of a bit of mischief.Murphy made the three-and-a-half hour trip to Suffolk from Shropshire, where he was born, and is settling in.

The dog training business will offer puppy training, dog walking and taxiing services... with Murphy tipped to be the next employee of the month!
