Representatives from an Ipswich-based electricity supplier have visited a school in the town to talk about maths in the real world.

Matthew Williamson and Jake Miller from Haven Power spoke to students at Halifax Primary School about how maths is useful in everyday lives, discussing topics including what affects energy usage and the connection between maths and electricity.

The pupils were also given a teamwork task at the end of the talk, using maths equations to solve electricity-based questions.

Jonathan Kini, CEO of Haven Power said: “We love to engage with the local community and it’s always rewarding to receive such an enthusiastic response from the children.”
