Pupils make waves

More than 350 pupils from seven different schools took part in the event at Felixstowe leisure centre.
The atmosphere was electric and it was no place to be unless you were prepared to get wet.
However, the children were not worried about saving lung power for their own race and instead tirelessly cheered and encouraged their classmates on as they competed against children from rival schools.
There were a total of 32 races which catered for children of all abilities. Apart from the traditional swimming events, other races included life-saving rescues, obstacle races and relays.
Samantha Prior, a teacher at Trimley St Martin and organiser of the gala, said: "It went really well and the kids had a great time."

Lisa Ransom, year six teacher at Colneis primary, said: "It was fantastic and everyone really enjoyed the occasion, however I expect we will all be rather hoarse later with all the shouting."
The seven schools taking part were Causton, Colneis, Grange, Trimley St Mary, Trimley St Martin, Kingsfleet and Langer.
