PARTS of Britain were hit by an earthquake in the early hours of today which was recorded as 4.8 on the Richter Scale.Reports were made of tremors in Bury St Edmunds just before 1am but the epicentre of the quake was in Wolverhampton.

Reports were made of tremors in Bury St Edmunds just before 1am but the epicentre of the quake was in Wolverhampton.
The main impact was felt in the West Midlands, Northampton, Oxfordshire and south Yorkshire.
There were no reports of any casualties.
