FELIXSTOWE: Four men are due to appear in court next week in connection a mass brawl in Felixstowe.

One person was taken to hospital after the fight, which was said at the time to have involved at least ten men.

A baseball bat and sticks were alleged to have been used during the incident which took place in Undercliff Road West.

People were seen fighting outside Ladbrokes bookmakers before the brawls moved to outside the Ordnance Hotel.

Around 12 police officers were sent to the scene following the outbreak of trouble, which occurred at around 7.15pm on August 15.

Four people were arrested shortly after the violence, and a further three suspects were also taken into custody as the investigation continued.

Suffolk police said a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries as a result of the incident, but was later released.

Following an inquiry which has lasted nearly four months officers have now brought charges against some of those arrested.

Arturas Bagdziunas, 27, of Leeward Court, and Viktor Stankevic, 35, of Beach Road West, Felixstowe, have been charged with affray.

Michael Turner, 57, from Alice Fisher Crescent, Kings Lynn, and Mark Cook, 43, from Craven Close in Rochford, Essex, have been charged with the same offence.

Cook has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

The quartet are currently on bail pending the first hearing of the cases.

They are due to appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich next Friday.

The three other suspects who were arrested will have no further action taken against them, a police spokeswoman said.
