CUSTOMERS could not wait to have one of their favourite charity shops back again as they queued for it to re-open after it was given a new look.

Felixstowe's deputy mayor Malcolm Minns cut the ribbon to re-open the newly-refurbished British Heart Foundation shop, which had been closed for a week for its makeover.

The shop's interior has been brightened with new lighting, laminated flooring and a new lay-out, while the outside has also undergone a facelift and now features smart, new signage.

Ruth Sheed, BHF shops area manager for Suffolk, said: “We are delighted with the changes that have been made to the shop - it looks fantastic. We hope that the local community will continue to support the shop as they have done so magnificently in the past.”

The shop in Hamilton Road is appealing for good quality clothing, accessories, handbags,

shoes, books, records, videos, DVDs, CDs and bric-a-brac.

To donate items, people can either pop into the shop with them or staff will arrange free collection.

The shop is also is need of more volunteer workers - and has vacancies for stock sorting and pricing, window dressing, sales assistance, and others.

“As well as being worthwhile, volunteering in a BHF shop is something practical that people can do to help the charity fight heart disease,” added Ms Sheed.

For more details about volunteering people should pop into the shop and speak to manager Maggie Hudson or ring 01394 282339.
