Raiders strike at Leiston jewellers

POLICE are hunting three men who threw a beer keg through the window of a Leiston jewellers and escaped with an unknown amount of jewellery today.

The men, wearing balaclavas, struck at the shop in the town's High Street at 4.

POLICE are hunting three men who threw a beer keg through the window of a Leiston jewellers and escaped with an unknown amount of jewellery today.

The men, wearing balaclavas, struck at the shop in the town's High Street at 4.30am this morning.

They made their escape in a red car, of Escort size, with a spoiler, believed to be a D or G reg.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the attack or anyone who has seen a car fitting that description to call them on 01473 613500.
