THERE are still delays on rail services out of Ipswich following disruption caused by a tree falling on to the line earlier today.
All One trains between Colchester and Ipswich were suspended causing misery for passengers, who were instead ferried by bus to Essex.
The problems started just before 6.30am when a tree fell on to power lines and began smouldering on the railway line between Ardley and Manningtree.
All trains were stopped immediately and fire crews were called to the scene, while rail engineers de-energised the power to the cables.
Services in both directions resumed at 10am. The consequential delays were expected to clear by midday.
