Rail commuters travelling from London to Norwich faced delays to their journey after a passenger was taken seriously ill on-board.
The Greater Anglia 7.30pm line from London Liverpool Street to Norwich line was delayed at Stowmarket this evening (Thursday) while emergency services attended to the passenger.
A tweet from Greater Anglia read: 'Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at #Stowmarket the line is blocked.'
Services have now returned to normal but delays of up to 60 minutes and disruption until midnight is expected.
Trains travelling from Ipswich to Norwich and Cambridge were also blocked and the 9.17pm Ipswich to Cambridge service and the 10.40pm Cambridge to Ipswich service were both cancelled.
A replacement bus service, operated by Youngs, was put on between Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.
