SOME flooding has been reported to police following heavy rain in the region.

Police were alerted to “fairly deep water” at Thorpe Hill, Burstall at 9.20pm last night.

A few minutes earlier, at 9.14pm, a call was received by a member of the public in Shotley requesting sandbags.

The call, which came from the main street, was passed on to the Highways Agency.

Weather in the area was poor yesterday evening and into today.

The Environment Agency yesterday warned that towns and villages in Suffolk could experience localised flooding.
