AN alleged rapist today said: "It is every young man's fantasy to have sex on a train."

Abdul Hassan, 23, told an Ipswich Crown Court jury he "fancied" the woman who claimed he raped her on the Ipswich to London train.

Hassan told the court he had spoken to the 22-year-old woman from Chelmsford on the platform at Ipswich railway station.

He said she had sat with him in the smoking carriage of the train along with his two friends.

Hassan, of Manor Park, London, told the jury the woman said she had two young children who were at Chelmsford.

He added that he had asked for her mobile telephone number so they could meet again but they were unable to find it on her phone.

Hassan said during the journey the woman took a small plastic bag out of her handbag, put her finger into the white powder inside it and licked her finger. She told him it was "speed".

Hassan said: "We continued chatting. When we were talking there was eye contact between us, some chemistry going on. I said shall we go to the toilet? I meant to go to the toilet to have sex. At that time I didn't think it was going to happen, sometimes you just have to be up front to see what happens. She said 'yes'. I was amazed, I didn't expect to get a yes answer. I was not disappointed, I am a man, you know what I mean."

Hassan told the court the woman followed him to the toilet and he locked the door. He said she produced a large box of condoms from her bag and put one on him. She then performed oral sex on him.

Hassan said he put another condom over the first before they had sex. While having sex Hassan's friend knocked on the door to warn the woman her stop was getting close.

Hassan, who denies rape, said he and the woman sat down in the carriage again and he wrote his phone number on a piece of newspaper with her lipstick before she left the train.

The court heard that neither the woman or the three men had train tickets and had been "dodging" the ticket inspector.

The trial continues.
