POLICE investigating reports a woman was sexually assaulted in Ipswich have arrested a man on suspicion of rape.
POLICE investigating reports a woman was sexually assaulted in Ipswich have arrested a man on suspicion of rape.
A friend of the woman called police at 8.54am yesterday after the alleged victim said she may have been assaulted. Some of her belongings were found in the town centre.
An area of Tower Street was cordoned off for a time, while officers launched an investigation.
Today, a spokeswoman for Suffolk police said a 32-year-old man from the town had been arrested and questioned by detectives.
The man has been released on police bail while further enquiries are carried out. He has been told to return to Ipswich Police Station on March 26.
