AS The Evening Star's Let Them Play appeal gets in to full swing, we are today asking readers to help spread the message by displaying one of our special posters.
Hundreds of the posters will be produced by our design department and we want to see them popping up all over Suffolk.
The appeal is aiming to raise £30,000 to help revamp the play area at Ipswich Hospital's children's wards.
Hidden in between buildings and surrounded by walls on all four sides, the playground brings welcome relief for parents and children but years of wear and tear have taken their toll.
The play surface has hardened and become unsafe, meaning that without urgent repair the area could become unusable.
Keren Brooke, play co-ordinator at the hospital, stressed the importance of the area.
She said: ““For some children this is their only glimpse of the outside world.
“They don't know anything else.”
Resurfacing is desperately needed but will cost £30,000 - and that's where you come in.
You can play your part in helping to change hundreds of children's lives by sticking one of the posters up in your office, school or community centre - anywhere it will be seen by plenty of people.
The posters contain details of the appeal and how you can get your money in and we want to get the whole community involved in making a difference to these children's lives.
Organisations, businesses and individuals are all being encouraged to get on board and dig deep, and it's up to you how you decide to raise the money - anything from sky-dives to sponsored silences, fancy dress parties to festive fun days.
The posters are free and there is no limit to how many people can have.
