A Suffolk woman has been accused of biting off the top of another woman’s finger at a New Year’s Eve event.
Rebecca Everitt appeared before magistrates in Ipswich on Monday, charged with wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent on December 31, 2017.
The 35-year-old, of Paget Close, Needham Market, is accused of biting off the top of another woman’s finger outside Great Blakenham village hall during a New Year’s Eve event.
Prosecutor Ian Devine said the case was unsuitable for summary trial at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court and asked for the matter to be referred to the crown court.
He said the incident was alleged to have taken place in the smoking area at the village hall.
Christopher Casey, for Everitt, made no representations before magistrates granted her unconditional bail until a trial preparation hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on October 29.
