Steven Wright, of London Road, Ipswich was due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court this afternoon charged with the murders of Tania Nicol, 19, Gemma Adams, 25, Anneli Alderton, 24, Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29.
It was to be the first time relatives of Wright's alleged victims were to see him face-to-face, sitting just metres away from the dock where the 49-year-old was to stand.
