RESIDENTS in Suffolk Coastal are being given a seasonal reminder that Christmas trees can be recycled when the time comes to take down the festive decorations.

Homes in Kesgrave and Leiston that are already taking part in the Coastal Ploughback green waste recycling scheme will be able to have their trees taken away as part of the service.

Anyone in the trial areas should place their Christmas trees, with all the decorations removed, next to their green waste on their regular collection day.

Kesgrave has brown bins, and Leiston has clear sacks for garden waste and vegetable peelings, and in the first five months of Coastal Ploughback more than 300 tonnes of green waste have been collected.

Residents in other areas can recycle their Christmas trees at Suffolk County Council's Household Waste and Recycling sites at Foxhall Road, Felixstowe's Carr Road, or Lovers Lane, Leiston.

n For more information about recycling in the Suffolk Coastal area call the Waste Management Team on 01394 444306, or visit the Council's web site on www.suffolkcoastal.gov.uk.
