Restaurant worker cleared of stabbing

AN IPSWICH restaurant worker said he was "the happiest man alive" after being cleared of deliberately stabbing a policeman.

Jurors at Ipswich Crown Court took more than three hours to clear Christopher Andrews, 42, of Christchurch Street, Ipwsich, of wounding PC Anthony Owens with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Speaking after the trial, Mr Andrews said he felt he had woken from a nightmare.
