A ROAD rage attack in which a man slapped another then smashed his back window, has prompted police to call for witnesses today.The incident happened after two vehicles had driven along London Road, Ipswich, at its junction with Sprites Lane, towards town, and stopped at traffic lights.

A ROAD rage attack in which a man slapped another then smashed his back window, has prompted police to call for witnesses today.

The incident happened after two vehicles had driven along London Road, Ipswich, at its junction with Sprites Lane, towards town, and stopped at traffic lights.

The driver of one vehicle got out and exchanged words with the driver of the second vehicle, and slapped him around the face.

He then returned to his car, took something from it and smashed the back window of the second vehicle.

The offender then climbed back into his driver's seat, and drove off in the direction of Sprites Lane.

The incident happened at approximately 4pm on Thursday .

A police spokeswoman said: "This incident left the driver shaken up and we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward."

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area, which is believed to have been busy with traffic at the time.

The offender is described as of oriental origin, aged in his late 30s, with black hair and of medium build.

He drove a dark-coloured BMW.
