Motorists in Ipswich have been reassured that there are no secret plans for a major overhaul of Foxhall Road, after an Ipswich Borough Council blunder.
Earlier this month a new road sign appeared in Foxhall Road at the junction with Cauldwell Hall Road.
But motorists were left baffled by the addition of the ‘no through road’ symbol with one Ipswich motorist quipping that it was a secret part of the Travel Ipswich scheme.
An Ipswich Borough Council spokesman said: “We apologise for this error and will remove the sign as soon as possible. We can assure residents that it was a regrettable mix-up and not part of a plan turn Foxhall Road into a cul-de-sac!”
