The Rotary Clubs of Ipswich will be helping support the Families in Need (FIND) Foodbank in Ipswich by collecting donations this weekend.
Volunteers from the clubs will be at the Tesco store at Copdock between 9am and 11am on Saturday and Sunday, where they will be asking shoppers to consider donating an item of food during their shop.
The donations will then be delivered to the foodbank on Monday by the volunteers.
The clubs were inspired to help the foodbank after a busy summer meant the foodbank’s shelves were almost bare by the end of August.FIND founder Maureen Reynel said there had been a “significant decline” in donations, which had forced the cause to dip into its vital funds to supplement the packages it gave out.
To donate food, visit the Rotary club volunteers at Tesco Copdock this weekend, or find out how to donate to the cause directly at the FIND website here.
