Rush hour crash causes chaos

RUSH hour traffic was gridlocked on the A14 today after a crash left both lanes of the eastbound carriageway completely blocked.
Three vehicles, including two Ford Mondeos were in collision at the Copdock interchange at 8.10am.
One of the drivers contacted the police to report the accident which left the Felixstowe-bound track blocked.
A six-year-old girl and her mother suffered seatbelt trauma injuries in the collision and a man in his mid to late 30s was also hurt. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
All three were taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.
The accident came minutes after a four-vehicle collision on the same carriageway.

A Daihatsu, a Ford Escort, a white van and another vehicle were involved in the crash at 7.56am on the same stretch of carriageway of the A14 between Wherstead and Copdock.
The accident was quickly cleared but there were also tailbacks as a result of this crash.
Although there was rain over night and this morning which had left road surfaces wet, however, Suffolk Police said there had been no reports of weather related accidents or flooding.
People across the region were waking up to a wet and gloomy morning as rain swept into the county and there is likely to be more damp weather for the rest of the week.
Evening Star weatherman Ken Blowers said: "A third of an inch of rain fell last night and it will continue raining on and off this week.
"There will be bright spells, then more rain, then bright spells, rain and that sort of thing."
On a brighter note he added: "There is very little frost and temperatures at the moment are well above average."
