A 61-year-old dock worker has been jailed for making nearly 8,000 indecent images of children and possessing an extreme pornographic picture feature a dog.
Christopher Skinner, of Holly Lane, Rushmere St Andrew, was sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment at Ipswich Crown Court.
Out of the 7,838 images of child pornography he made 2172 pictures and 310 movies were categorised as Level A, the most serious grading for indecent images of children.
The photos and movies were found on three devices after officers from Suffolk Constabulary raided his home.
Police were alerted by the National Crime Agency’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).
It discovered videos had been uploaded to a private viewing site on YouTube which was traced by to a device being used by Skinner.
Prior to appeared at Ipswich Crown Court Skinner had pleaded guilty to three counts of making the images and a further count involving the pornographic image of a dog.
The pleas were entered at a hearing before South East Suffolk Magistrates Court last month.
All four of the charges he admitted to related to the period between January 1, 2013 and November 6 last year.
Skinner was arrested when police executed a search warrant at his home on November 5 last year.
In addition to his jail term Skinner was made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
