The proposal is part of a scheme by the Ipswich and Norwich Co-operative Society to improve the shopping parade in the centre of Capel St Mary, close to where pensioner Joan Albert, 79, was found stabbed to death in her Boydlands home on December 16.
Members of Babergh District Council's development committee were to discuss a package of proposals by the Co-op to improve the parade of shops at their meeting today.
The proposals include installing disabled parking spaces, access ramps onto the pavements, installing an automatic banking machine, security lights and CCTV, and changes to the car park and landscaping.
