IT'S amazing what a difference 15 years make.

As former pupils of East Bergholt High School arrived at their school reunion it was clear to see that some classmates were finding it difficult to recognise some of the faces smiling at them.

However, the class of 1987 were soon reminiscing and remembering each other from their class photograph which had been specially enlarged and covered an entire wall.

One of the organisers of the gathering, Catherine Dance, nee Young, said: "I personally haven't seen most people since I was 16. I saw two former classmates by chance and we decided it would be a good idea to try and get everyone together again.

"It was so nice seeing the old gang and everyone had a thoroughly good evening."

The reunion was held at Bar IV in St Peter's Street, Ipswich, and 70 people turned up.

Many who couldn't make the event sent letters which were pinned to the wall, which included some people who couldn't justify the air fair from places such as Australia, Canada, America and Cuba.

Tina Burrell, born Adams, said it was nice to catch up with old friends.

"It's strange seeing how people have changed. When I heard about the reunion I had to come along after all the effort that had gone into organising it."

Everyone who attended was asked to sign a guest book and any profit made from the night was to be donated to St Elizabeth Hospice.

Nathan Burrell said: "I hadn't a clue who some of the people were, but it soon all came back to me and everyone had a good laugh."
