A WOODWORK teacher at an Ipswich school ended up in hospital today after an accident involving a saw.

The Craft, Design and Technology technician at Chantry High School was working in an area away from students when he cut his thumb with the saw.

Initially staff at the school administered first aid but he was then taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

A Suffolk County Council spokeswoman said: “It was quite a deep cut.

“The school administered first aid but they thought it would be best to send him to hospital. An ambulance was called because he couldn't drive.”
