EXISTING Portman Road season ticket holders should receive letters from Ipswich Town inviting them to buy tickets for next season over the next few days.

The football club announced earlier this month that prices would be frozen next season – although the number of home games will be more in the Nationwide League.

Letters to existing season ticket holders are to be sent out from the club tomorrow evening or on Thursday, so they should arrive at fans' homes on Thursday or Friday.

The ground will have a 30,000 capacity from the start of the season but the club has said season ticket prices will be frozen to existing ticket holders for the following season – 2003-4 – even if the club is promoted back to the Premiership at the first attempt.

"We have had a lot of interest already in season tickets for the next campaign," said club spokesman Terry Baxter.

"We are reasonable hopeful that the vast majority of our season ticket holders will renew despite the disappointment of relegation."
