A group of golfers have raised £5,000 to increase the support offered to cancer patients.
Members of Seckford Golf Club presented staff at Ipswich Hospital with a cheque after choosing the John Le Vay Cancer Information Centre as their charity for the year.
The men’s, ladies’ and seniors’ captains at the club all nominated the charity as the recipient of the cash, which was raised through holding competitions, raffles and quizzes.
The money will be spent on initiatives to support patients, including special exercise classes, books for children whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer and a support group for men with prostate cancer.
Debbie Logan, Macmillan Information Specialist and Centre Manager at the John Le Vay centre, said: “We are very grateful to everyone from the golf club for this wonderful donation, and would like to thank them all for their fantastic efforts.”
