Second man charged with rape on train

A SECOND man has been charged with raping an Ipswich woman on a train between Suffolk and Colchester and is due to appear in court.

The 23-year-old man, who comes from east London, was charged with the rape in Ipswich on Thursday following an investigation by British Transport Police into an alleged sex attack in March.

The 23-year-old man, who comes from east London, was charged with the rape in Ipswich on Thursday following an investigation by British Transport Police into an alleged sex attack in March.

The alleged rape of a 22-year-old woman happened during a train journey between Ipswich and Colchester on the 9.49pm Anglia Railways service from Suffolk's county town to Liverpool Street Station in London.

The sex attack is alleged to have taken place in a toilet cubicle near coach B at the rear of the train.

A 22-year-old man, Abdul Hassan of Warrior Square, Manor Park, in London, has already been charged with the rape.

The man charged yesterday has been released on police bail to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court on January 2, 2002.
