Heavy rain fell during both the morning and evening rush hour yesterday, causing chaos for commuters on the roads and rail networks in East Anglia.

Jaime Cryer shared photos of High Road, Trimley St Martin from the junction of St Martins Green and The Sausage Shop where the road was flooded due to rain that fell overnight. The iwitness phptographer added: “Trimley St Martin currently has an application lodged for a new development. One of the problems the High Road faces apart from the volumes of traffic is the state of the road itself. As you see the drainage from the High Road is inadequate.”

Janice Poulson shared images of a waterlogged St Mary’s Churchyard in Woodbridge and David Lamming uploaded photos from Boxford.
He captioned them: “The swollen and fast-running River Box flowing through Boxford after nearly an inch of rain had fallen overnight.”
