GIFT vouchers and a trophy are the top prize on offer if your photograph of Christchurch Park in Ipswich can beat these!

These are the first few entries in The Christchurch Park Photography Competition run by Ipswich Borough Council - coupled with some shots by Evening Star photographers and readers which are not entered but may inspire you.

You can enter up to three photographs, under the categories of people, wildlife and nature, and historic.

Each category will be divided into adult and junior classes for 16-year-old and younger.

Park manager Sam Pollard said: “I am particularly looking forward to seeing some entries from younger park users, as children tend to have a fresh perspective and might spot some interesting angles.”

All the winning entries will go on display at the official opening of a new park building to be built inside the Bolton Lane entrance to the park - and the best of the rest will also be shown at the park.

Organisers said don't forget to get the permission of the subject if you are taking pictures which clearly identify individuals.

The closing date is June 29, and for a copy of the rules and an entry form call 01473 433500 or email parks.services@ipswich.gov.uk.
