Three buildings in the town centre were raided overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
Between 6pm on Monday and 7.20am on Tuesday the Fletcher Centre in Crescent Road was broken into through a ground floor window.
The burglar searched the officers of the centre, which is a counselling and pregnancy advice centre linked to St Matthews Church, forcing locked doors open and damaging filing cabinets.
A cash box containing cash and cheques was stolen.
Then between 5.15am and 7.20am on Tuesday morning the Ipswich Registry Office in Grimwade Street was targeted.

Three window panes were taken out and propped up outside the building while the burglar searched inside.
And at about 6.30am a burglar was seen breaking into John Olivers hairdressers in Fore Street, Ipswich.
A man described as white, 5ft 7inc and wearing a light grey top with the hood up, was seen running away from the crime screen with a cash draw.
The salon was sealed off by police while an investigation into the crimes continued.
