Serious accident on Cambridgeshire road

POLICE were called to a serious accident involving two vehicles on the A603 between Barton and Eversden near Cambridge.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at about 1.20pm and left the drivers of the cars, both from Cambridgeshire, with serious injuries.

The 57-year-old male driver of the Renault Megan was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries, and 46-year-old woman driver of the Honda Jazz was also taken to hospital with serious injuries but these are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed at the Hasingfield turn and at the Eversden crossroads.
