THREE RAF servicemen - including two based in Suffolk - have been killed in a mortar attack on their Iraqi base, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
The men died after the Contingency Operating Base in Basra came under fire. Next of kin of the dead men have been informed.
Two of the servicemen were from 1 Squadron RAF Regiment, which is based at RAF Honington, near Bury St Edmunds, while the other was from 504 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
