POLICE investigating a sexual assault in Lowestoft today said the 17-year-old complainant had withdrawn her allegation.

POLICE investigating a sexual assault in Lowestoft today said the 17-year-old complainant had withdrawn her allegation.

The girl initially told officers she had been attacked in the car park off Bevan Street East in the early hours of this morning.

She later changed her story, claiming an unknown man had made approaches towards her, but stopped when she refused.

Police continued with their investigation amid concerns the man may still pose a danger, but following extensive enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage, they concluded no incident had occurred.
