A NIGHTCLUBBER has been indecently assaulted and had some of her clothes ripped by a man as she walked through Ipswich after an evening out with friends.

The 27-year-old woman from the Stowmarket area, decided to leave Pals nightclub on Saturday and go home because she was

feeling unwell. She left the club alone at around 10.30pm.

She walked towards Ipswich rail station via Silent Street and Cutler Street before entering Cardinal Park. As she passed the UGC

cinema, she started talking to a man who began walking alongside her.

Suddenly he pulled her off the pavement and indecently assaulted her, ripping some of her clothing and leaving her with minor injuries.

After the assault, the victim continued to walk towards the

railway station but then turned back to Cardinal Park, where staff at the cinema came to her aid.

Detectives hunting the sex attacker said at the moment the indecent assault is not being linked to the rape of a 19-year-old woman in Ipswich on Saturday, July 28.

The attacker was white, about 5ft 5ins tall and chubby. He was in his late 20's with short blonde hair with a fringe.

He wore a mid-blue, round-neck T-shirt with white piping around the neck and white stripes on the sleeves and blue jeans. He spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with any information should call Det Con Phil Clare at Ipswich police station on 01473 383196 or Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555111.
