That's what radio listeners to SGR FM may hear soon when the company shakes up its news coverage.

SGR is reviewing its news coverage and has submitted new plans to the government's Radio Authority.

It is not expecting a reply for at least two months – but accepts they could lead to major changes.

Steve Martin from SGR said he could not comment on exactly what was being planned – although a restructuring was being considered.

"But our listeners won't notice a reduction in the amount of news coverage – there will be the same amount of time. We are committed to local news," he said.

This is the latest move in a year of changes which have seen progressively less of the station's output coming from Suffolk.

SGR and Broadland are both owned by Swindon-based media giant Great Western Radio – and have undergone "consolidation" over the last few months.

In May programme controller Mark Pryke left the station after his position was made redundant.

The company announced in March that big changes were being planned as part of a "consolidation" programme.

Already much of the station's output is shared with its fellow stations in Norwich and Colchester.
