A well-dressed man in a pin-striped suit pushed his shopping trolley into staff at Sainsbury's supermarket after he tried to leave without paying.
The attempted theft from the store off Bedingfeld Way, Bury St Edmunds happened around 1.25pm on Tuesday
A police spokeswoman said: “When he was challenged by staff he pushed the trolley into them and ran off into the car park. The man is described as wearing a navy pin-striped suit, shirt and tie.”
