SHOPPERS and staff are believed to have been evacuated from the Tesco store in Martlesham, near Ipswich, following a fire.
SHOPPERS and staff are believed to have been evacuated from a Tesco store after a fire broke out in a compactor at the rear of the supermarket.
Fire crews from Ipswich and Woodbridge were called to Martlesham at around 3.45pm today.
When they arrived they found a small fire in a compactor and used one hose reel to extinguish the flames.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We can confirm that there was a small fire at the rear of the store.
“The fire service were contacted immediately, it was very quickly contained and caused minimum disruption to the store.”
