LATE night shoppers endured blizzard-like conditions as snowfall and blustery winds brought a slice of the arctic to Ipswich town centre this evening.
Snow fell heavily at regular intervals as present hunters tried to secure the last of their festive gifts.
As the wintry blast carpeted streets and paths, the freezing conditions became increasingly treacherous.
Tonight was the final late night shopping event of the season in Ipswich.
More snow and plummeting temperatures are forecast for the next few days as a weather system continues to move in from the icy depths of Siberia.

There are fears tomorrow's final day of the school term could be severely hit by the conditions.
But while the weather has brought its problems, hopes have been fuelled that 2009 could provide the first white Christmas for nearly 30 years.
