POLICE investigating a daylight attack on a pensioner in Woodbridge today stopped shoppers in a bid to jog their memories and gather more information about the incident.

POLICE investigating a daylight attack on a pensioner in Woodbridge today stopped shoppers in a bid to jog their memories and gather more information about the incident.

Plain clothes and uniformed officers carried out the checks in Castle Street and Chapel Street area between 2pm and 4pm.

The 85-year-old woman suffered grazes to her elbow and was taken to hospital as she had difficulty walking after she was robbed in an alleyway between Ship Meadow and Castle Street around 3.15pm last Monday. The attacker grabbed her dark coloured handbag, containing cards and around £7 and a carrier bag containing food.
