A MAN has been found dead on Suffolk farmland just 30 minutes after warning of his own suicide.
It is believed he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said officers made the grisly discovery on farmland off the road linking Bruisyard and Peasenhall at around 2.20pm, some 35 minutes after receiving a 999 call from what is believed to be the same man.
The spokeswoman said: “During the brief conversation he gave information that led the call taker to believe he may take his own life.
“An immediate search was launched which included the force helicopter which led to police finding a vehicle between Bruisyard and Peasenhall.
“A man was found deceased a short distance from the vehicle and a shotgun has been recovered from the scene.”
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.
An inquest will take place at a later date.
The spokeswoman said officers are currently tracing the man's family to inform them of the death.
