INVESTIGATIONS were under way today after vandals believed to be armed with a high-powered air rifle shot at Felixstowe's Coastwatch station.
Volunteers who man the look-out on the seafront discovered a bullet hole through the main window of the centre.
Press officer Alan Peck said: “The window is about 50ft to 60ft up so we think it would probably have been someone with a high-powered air rifle of some kind.
“We still haven't found the bullet.
“Thankfully the station was not manned at the time and none of our equipment has been damaged.”
